A FEDERAL STYLE MAHOGANY EXTENDING FLIP-TOP CARD TABLE WITH TWO LEAVES, CIRCA 1939, the mahogany veneered swing leg flip-top card table of double elliptical form with geometric stain and ebonized wood stringing to top edges and lower edge of apron, inlaid satinwood two-handled urn and foliate decoration to center of apron, satinwood stringing framing tapered legs with pendant bellflower inlay, the table fitted with patented extension mechanism allowing transformation of the table to a small dining table with the insertion leaves (two included, each measuring 15" x 36"), stamped to the back "US PAT NO 2152703." NOTE: the patent for the extension mechanism was issued to Anthony Marion of Somerville, Massachusetts on April 4, 1939. Height: 30 1/2" Width: 36" Depth: 18"
