A Corinthian black glazed Plemochoe, c. 6th - 5th Century BC, with characteristic circular body that sits on a ring base, single handle at side, the top decorated with vertical wavy lines around the rim. There are two old collection numbers on the underside. H: 2 1/10 in (5.3cm), D: 4 1/4 in (10.8cm). Intact, light weathering, small split opposite the handle which occurred during the manufacturing process. This form was used sparingly in the Attic region, and would have been used primarily to hold valuable liquids; the design of the deeply folded in rim was meant to prevent the contents from spilling.
