various floral designs for Aimée Lowther, Christabel Marshall, George Waterston & Sons, and Marguerite Tollemache, also a tortoise motif for Grace Emma Tollemache, 5 wood-engravings, the first, second and fourth with original hand-colouring, v.s., 85 x 70mm. et infra, [respectively no.s 101, 141, unpublished, 162, and 161 in Blatchly, Bookplates of Edward Gordon Craig], unframed, c.1899 (5) Aimée Lowther (fl.1890-1924) was an actress and close friend of Ellen Terry. Her bookplate first appeared in The Page , vol 2 no.3, 1899. The author and critic Christabel Marshall (a.k.a. Christopher Marle St John, c.1870-1960), was the long-term companion of the artist's sister, Edith Craig. The poet the Hon. Grace Emma Tollemache (1869-1934) and Marguerite Emily Tollemache (c.1880-after 1947) were first cousins. The latter's bookplate first appeared in The Page , vol 2 no.3, 1899.
