Howard & Co., Boston”, has black Roman hour numerals and blued spade hands (tarnished); brass 8 day weight driven time only movement No. 70, signed “E. Howard & Co., Boston”, wood pendulum stick with brass covered bob, original No. 70 iron weight and brass pulley. In a carved mahogany case with turned finials over a carved trim piece, leaf carved spandrels on the corners of the upper door, square teardrop finial, corbels and floral carved border in the drop section with original reverse painted red, black & gilt tablet. In good overall condition, case has some damage to the lower bracket from the weight falling, has an enhanced original medium red-brown finish with very small spot touchups in the tablet. 34 in. high x 15 in. wide x 5.5. in. deep.
