French Louis XVI Style Carved Mahogany Marble Top Nightstand, early 20th c., the three-quarter pierced gallery over an inset figured white marble, above two brass banded drawers flanked by fluted stiles and brass banded side panels, on ormolu mounted turned tapered legs to brass sabots, H.- 29 1/4 in., W.- 18 1/4 in., D.- 13 1/4 in.

Condition consistent with age and use. Marble is observed with scratches, and three centimeter sized losses – one near the center, and two at the front edge. Brass gallery is slightly warped throughout. Drawers pull easily. Handles are observed with white residue, and bottom handle is noted as being slightly askew. A 1 inch scratch is seen along the left side of the top drawer. A deep 1 inch scratch is noted along the bottom edge of the left side panel. Legs are seen with a few small nicks. A charming example.
