Description
Pair of Edwardian Knife Boxes, c. 1910, of urn form, raised on a conforming turned standard and circular base, the interiors fitted for various size knives, H. 22 3/4 in., D.- 11 in.
Condition
Condition consistent with age and use. One finial is now lacking the ball top; the other finial has an apparent repair and is now lacking a portion of the base. The lids are observed with typical mild dents and scratches, and one with four mild cracks. One body is observed with typical mild wear, the other now has a vertical humidity crack running the length of the body and some apparent scratches and dents. The bases have some mild surface scratches and dents. A brilliant pair.
