Georgian Carved Mahogany Chest, 19th c., the reeded edge rectangular top over two frieze drawers, above four graduated drawers, on ogee bracket feet, H.- 48 1/4 in., W.- 47 in., D.- 21 in.

Condition consistent with age and use. Finish is inconsistent in areas throughout dresser. Top is observed with scuffs and scratches all over, with especially heavy scratching noted along the right side. A crack in the reeded edge is seen along the front edge towards the left, with a 6 inch section of the reeded molding now lacking along the left side. Drawers open well. Molding is observed as missing along the right edges of top two graduated drawers, with a 2 inch loss of molding noted to the bottom right corner of the bottom drawer. All drawers with a few nicks and small losses to edges noted throughout. Both side panels are observed with moderate scuffing, scratches, and variations to finish. Feet with expected wear. An elegant example.
