Lawn Bowling Set Scotland 19th C With Wooden Case

Description

Scottish personal and professional lawn bowling set comes from the 19th century. The hand made mahogany box for storing and carrying has well made leather handle with brass latch. Lock in place with no key. The box well made with large dove tails at all corners. Minor wear to the wood. The four wooden balls,lead filled show the original owners initials "RJK" in the center of antique cream with small black round design and ball number on one side and just the number of the ball on the other. The four in very good condition with minor wear to the wood as seen from use. The set, made by Thomas Taylor, Glasgow, Scotland,200 year old family owned business and top innovator of bowls were also reconditioned by the company according to the markings and information on the balls in 1958, No. 3 Bias. Box measures 13 L X 13 W X 6 H. Balls 4.75 inches H X 5 L X 5 W. Item ID: VW3809
