Description
L 7 3/4 in., W 4 in. This bronze printing block was made during the Hongwu Period (1368-1398) of Ming Dynasty after the Chinese overthrown the Mongolian rulers. Paper money was first invented by Chinese in 11th Century. This printing block could print money of a face value of 500 dollars at that time. It is rare to find a Ming money printing block after more than 700 years of history. Only the Shanghai Museum has a similar one like this.
