Saite Period, 624-525 BC. A cast amuletic pendant of a cobra representing the goddess Wadjet, patron of Lower Egypt, seated on the hieroglyph 'neb' shaped like a basket meaning 'mistress, thus 'Mistress of Lower Egypt'. 0.39 grams, 11mm (1/4"). Ex French art market, 1920s.
