Joseph E. Johnston (1807-1891). Confederate General. ALS as Brigadier General, 1p, 8 x 8.5 in., "Hd. Qrs. Harpers Ferry." June 12, 1861. Addressed to Colonel Harper. Johnston alerts Harper that Union troops were coming their way by train. Johnston is in great need of wagons at Harpers Ferry and asks Harper if he can quietly take possession of a few.

Condition

Letter appears to have been trimmed along bottom edge, but this has no impact on content of letter itself. Typical folds in letter, with few scattered spots.
