NAKED BABE. ¼ plate tintype in a full case. This is a very unusual subject for the period, and furthermore it is an early tintype with the "Melainotype" patent on the plate. Surely this is a sleeping babe, and not a deceased one. Many early images of supposed naked babies are not fully naked, but this one is. Slight crackling of the surface.
