Description
The Perkins Wind Mill Co. of Mishwaka, Indiana was a leading manufacturer of windmills (according to their promotional materials) for twenty two years before the publication of their 1894 catalog. The Perkins Wood Wind Mill is the prime mill featured in that catalog. Finely crafted of wood with gearing composed of nickel plated brass castings, it perfectly replicates in miniature the direct action mechanism as portrayed in the catalog cuts. Considering the delicacy of the thin wood blades of the wheel and the rudder, this is an amazing survivor. It is offered with its original fitted brass bound wooden box along with a wide variety of Perkins catalogs, flyers, trade cards, etc. as well as catalogs from other windmill manufacturers.
