The Lobmeyr hanging light fixture features twenty rows of faceted glass beads supported by a cylindrical frame.

The fixture is slightly warped and requires some light restoration. It measures 20 ½” high.

J. & L. Lobmeyr

J. & L. Lobmeyr is a sixth generation family owned glassware company in Austria. Founded by Josef Lobmeyr in 1823, the company is based in Vienna. In 1883, J. & L. Lobmeyr co-developed with Thomas Edison the first electric chandeliers in the world. Additionally, some of their clients have included Franz Ferdinand, Duke of Brabant, the Court of Flanders and the King of Belgium. The company has also provided glassware to the Metropolitan Opera, the Vienna State Opera, the Kremlin and the J.F.K Center for the Preforming Arts. Pieces made by J. & L. Lobmeyr can be viewed in the collections of the Museum of Applied Arts in Vienna and the MoMA and Neue Galerie in New York.
