A rare ensemble made for McQueen's 'Highland Rape' collection but not used in the show, Autumn-Winter, 1995-6, comprising: crudely made lilac suede trouser-boots, with hip pockets, nylon rear zip fastening and starched muslin interlining to the waistband, inset with a pair of high heeled shoes, waist 66cm, 26in; and a pastel floral printed satin blouse with triple pleats to the rear elbow areas to produce a curve, button-down collar, chest 97cm, 38in (2) Trixie recalls Lee telling her that these items were pulled from the show as at the last minute he deemed them to be too pretty. 'Highland Rape' was the show that really launched McQueen's career and his aim was to shock. Again the press railed against his (to them) brutal and degrading treatment of women. However, for McQueen the collection was influenced by his perceived rape of Scottish culture, the 1745 Jacobite Rebellion and 19th century Highland Clearances - not woman-kind, which much of the press failed to grasp.

Trouser-boots are soiled in appearance and in need of cleaning - especially to waistband and feet areas. Red lipstick marks below waistband centre-front. Blouse has a a 6cm split above the cuff opening, small L shaped nick (approx 1cm) on front left sleeve, back panels the satin has scuff marks and numerous small holes in clusters
