Jean-Baptiste Mondino has been commissioned for campaigns by numerous internationally well-known perfume and fashion companies such as Christian Dior; the auction record for one of his photographs currently sets at around €16,500

The motif of an ‘ethereal subway angel’ was developed in the course of a campaign for the perfume ‘L’air du temps’ by Nina Ricci. The intended idea was to create an urban angel that would come across us on the street, at the cinema or, as seen here, on the subway ready to mop up after our mistakes. The campaign was realized with the French actress Audrey Marnay, whose angel-like features were particularly suited for Mondino’s photographic approach.

The C-print is mounted on plastic board; it is signed and numbered on a verso attached label ‘Mondino 5/9’. The work is in very good overall condition. The image size is 40.8 x 30.7 cm and the sheet size is 56.1 x 46 cm. The framed overall dimensions are 57.5 x 47.5 cm; the frame is fitted with a typographic gallery label by ‘M+ B Photo, Los Angeles’ on verso.
