A Culpeper type microscope by Adams of London, late 18th century, the brass body tube with rack and pinion focusing, mounted on the outer sleeve with three scroll legs supporting a circular stage, signed with maker's name, upon continued scroll legs to a square mahogany base with broken concave mirror, a drawer below containing 5 objective lenses and 3 bone slides, the mahogany pyramidal case with additional drawer with few further accessories, lacking top carrying handle, height of case 44cm
