Omas Columbo II 1992 Fountain Pen 

Omas Columbo II fountain pen. Created in 1992 to celebrate the 500th anniversary of Christopher Columbus' voyage of discovery. At 5.625" long capped it has the same 12-sided faceted design that has been an Omas hallmark since 1932. Crafted in briarwood rather than resin or nitrocellulose. According to the included brochure the reason behind the Columbo II designation is to honor "the magnificent and newly built sailing ship, The Columbo II. " This pen is equipped with the no longer available naturally semi-flexible 14k two-tone nib with a fine point. The presentation box is made from blue fiberglass, the same material, according to the brochure, that was used for the hull of the Columbo II. The beige suede lining of the box was hand applied at the factory which produces seats for Ferrari's Formula 1 racing cars.
