Rudolf Ausleger (1897-1974)

Rudolf Ausleger was born in Weissenfels in Saxony-Anhalt. He received his artistic training in Berlin at the private art school Reimann and the Staatliche Kunstschule, an educational institution for art teachers. One of his teachers was Georg Tappert. As a soldier during the First World War he met painters, who later became members of the November Group that was founded in 1918. Ausleger also joined this association in 1920, whose aim was to connect art and people. Characteristic is a non-uniform syncretism of style, which is sometimes also referred to as "Kubofuturoexpressionism". Ausleger remained a member until the organization until its break up in the early 1930s and was obliterated from the register of associations in 1935 by the Nazis. From 1921 Rudolf Ausleger got various teaching assignments at schools, including school Reimann. From 1949 to 1967, he worked as an art teacher at the Pädagogische Hochschule Berlin. (fea)
