This bronze sculpture by Danish artist Carl-Henning Pedersen originated in the 1980s/90s. The sculptural work created by the co-founder of the CoBrA group are characterized by a powerful plasticity with archaic, primitive-monumental features.
The bronze is monogrammed ‘CHP’ and numbered ‘29/35’. It is overall in very good condition. Its height including base measures 23 cm.
Carl-Henning Pedersen (1913-2007)
Carl-Henning Pedersen was born in Copenhagen in 1913. He taught himself in the arts. On a trip to Paris he came into contact with the art of Picasso, Matisse and Chagall. The latter had particularly impressed him, as a result his painted works show clear influences. His sculptures however, are characterized by a powerful plasticity with archaic, primitive-monumental features.
