1979 vintage
Illmitz, Burgenland/Austria
Original filling quantity: 0.75 l
Fill level: < 5 cm
This bottle of 1979 vintage Welschriesling Eiswein was produced by the winery's siblings Johann and Johanna Gartner in the beautiful Burgenland in Austria. The winery is located in Illmitz in the heart of the National Park Neusiedler See Seewinkel.
In Seewinkel is a microclimate caused by the large water surface of the Lake Neusiedler. Around 2,000 hours of sunshine and only 400-600 mm of annual precipitation, which are the optimal conditions for fresh and fruity-dry white wines as well as strong-extra-rich and voluminous reds. Above all the world-famous Illmitzer Trockenbeerenauslese (sweet wines). A perfect combination of variety, soil and climate is the principle of good wine. Therefore, it is very important for the winegrowers to bring these factors to a common denominator. Trying to plant each ripe variety in the most appropriate vineyard, is the secret of the wine-siblings. Their credo: ‘Only from ripe and healthy grapes wine can be produced of the highest quality!’ The Riesling connects green apple and pear in the nose. His fruity acidity provides a full juicy palate!
The fill level is good (< 5 cm). The label is slightly soiled and damaged; the capsule is in perfect condition.
