Description
A large Central Asian terracotta male head, c. 5th - 7th Century AD, with well-rendered features and wearing an elaborate headdress. A lovely piece resembling the Ghandaran schist sculpture of the same period. H: 6 in (15.3cm). Some losses to right side of head, mineral deposits throughout, custom stone base. Ex New York private antiquities collection.
