Figurative table lamp with the motif of Nausicaa from Homer's Odyssey

Nausicaa is a girl from Greek mythology appearing in Homer's Odyssey. When Odysseus is shipwrecked at the end of his voyage and strands on Phaeacia, she is the only girl who approaches him without fear. She then takes him to her parents' palace. Later on she fell in love with him. This work shows the moment when she nears him with a poised step. In Art Déco illustrations of self-confident women were quite popular.

This execution was made by the French foundry Maison Max Le Verrier, which also made other works by Le Faguays. The plastic is signed 'FAYRAL' on its side and inscribed with the foundry mark 'LE VERRIER PARIS'. Dimensions: 44.5 x 26 x 22.5 cm. It is in very good condition. The lamp has a double-light fixture. Functionality is not guaranteed.
