Dancers from the vaudeville shows, cabarets and revues of the golden twenties in Paris were a popular theme expressed in sculptures

Dancers from the vaudeville shows, cabarets and revues of the golden twenties in Paris, like for example the Moulin Rouge, were a popular theme for sculptures of bronze and other materials. Placed on desks and mantelpieces they found their decorative space. The exotic and eroticism of snake charmers, oriental dancers and other figures of the so-called demimonde, were fascinating back then. Idols of such sculptures were contemporary stars of theater, sport and fashion. Now in the Art Deco time the bodies of the figures are opening up and often move in ecstatic, theatrical ways, sometimes even acrobatic. So the artists created an interesting silhouette that applied exactly to the taste of the time.

The signature ‘Fayral’ and the foundry's mark ‘Le Verrier Paris‘ can be found on the plinth of the sculpture. The sculpture is overall in very good condition with minimal signs of age and wear. The total height is 25.5 cm.
