Description
A Fine Small Olmec Spoon Half Celt Snuff Tablet from Guatemala, ca. 400 B.C.This dense green stone pendant is carved from a split in half celt with a lightly cupped face, retaining the curving backside, and drilled with two suspension holes. The face exhibits a strong mirror like polish from use as a small grinding tablet for precious materials and the backside retains a strong polish also. Such portable pendants are normally associated with shaman use as tablets to mix hallucinogenic ritual materials on or scribes needing small mixtures of rare pigments.(2-1/2 inches long and 1-5/8 inches wide)
