[Civil War/Ku Klux Klan]. AN AUTHENTIC EXPOSITION OF THE “K. G. C.” “Knights of the Golden Circle;” Or, A History of Secession from 1834 to 1861. Illustrated. By a Member of the Order. First Edition. Indianapolis, Ind: C. O. Perrine, Publisher. 1861. (Front wrap: Asher & Co. Indianapolis, Ind.) iv, [5]-88pp. 12mo. Modern flexible cardboard covers, retaining printed wraps. Adhesive strip at inner edge of wraps slightly overlaps printed area. A little chipping to wraps, corner tips of pages curled at beginning and end of text. Foxing. Relates to a predecessor of the post-Civil War Ku Klux Klan, including its oath and issues involving secession, slavery, and perceived grievances.
