A CAVALRY OFFICERS SWORD, EARLY 19TH CENTURY
with curved blade double-edged for its last quarter, etched over much of its surface with foliage, elaborate trophies-of-arms, the crowned Royal arms and retaining minute traces of blueing, gilt-brass hilt cast in low relief, comprising a pair of elaborately shaped langets decorated with fasces crossed with a quiver of arrows, knuckle-guard with foliage top and bottom, well detailed bridled camel's head pommel, and chequered ivory grip (small age cracks)
