Description
The AEAA is very pleased to present this next piece of valuable Vaseline glass from the respected Loren (Butch) Morse collection. This lot represents a handsome 1930s Fenton Art Glass, Topaz Opalescent (Vaseline) Basket Weave Open Edge square bowl. This great whimsy bowl explodes under black light, and is in wonderful condition, weighing 11 oz., and measuring 4.74 x 4.75 x x 3.125 inches tall. The Basket Weave Open Edge pattern was initiated in 1911, with the introduction of Marigold Carnival & blue colors. Many new colors were added in the 1920s, with the first Topaz Opalescent noted prior to 1930. Loren Morse was a respected family man and Vaseline collector, and his untimely passing a year ago was a blow to everyone. The Morse family gratefully appreciates your participation in this Estate sale. Research consulted: Fenton Art Glass 1907 to 1939, 2nd Ed. / by Margaret & Kenn Whitmyer; Fenton Glass, The First, & Second 25 Years / by William Heacock James Measell and Frank Fenton
