Georg Jensen (Danish, 1866-1935)
Georg Jensen was a Danish silversmith who apprenticed as a goldsmith at age fourteen in Copenhagen and went on to pursue a fine arts education at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. These two formative experiences coalesced into a successful career when he began his own silversmith company in 1904 with his renowned Art Nouveau inspired creations. Since his death in 1935, his company has gone on to include iconic flatware and silverware.
