Description

A rare opportunity to acquire a what is proposedly a Chief chair, carved of one piece of Lignum Vitae (iron wood) or a similar very dense and heavy lumber. The seat and the back are one piece and the 4 legs are added separately. West Africa, circa 1900. Measurements: 26" X 17" X 12" *This chair was brought to United States in 1930's from the grandfather of the consignor, who was a geologist.*

Condition

Very Good overall; Great patina developed over time and signs of continuous use unmistakingly the noting a good vintage.
