Historical wall plate. Victorian style, displays the portrait of prominent British Liberal Politician and four-time Prime Minister of the United Kingdom William Ewart Gladstone, FRS, FSS (29 December 1809 – 19 May 1898). Hand tinted, portrait on the left, flowers on the right in a dark border. Dates back to the late Victorian period, the second half of the 19th century. It is most likely from one of his later electoral campaigns or his terms as PM, although it may have been made as a commemorative plate soon after his death.
