Description
Original watercolor painting by Italian 19th century master Filippo Palizzi (b.Chieti, 1818 – d.Naples, 1899). A characteristic for the painter scene of grazing sheep. Done on artists laid paper. Signed by the hand of the artist, lower left in black – PALIZZI. Quite prominent during the 1800's, Palizzi is well known for his rustic landscapes and portrayals of animals. He moved to Naples at a young age, and was greatly influenced by the School of Posillipo. A work of his is exhibited in the Museum of Capodimonte. Measurements: Approx. 9" x 8" the sheet
