Louis XVI-Style Giltwood Bergere avec Orielles and Stool, late 19th century, the bergere with a domed and padded back within a rope-carved frame, joined by shaped and padded sides and arms to the cushioned seat, raised on tapering circular fluted legs ending in toupie feet, h. 37", together with a stool with a cushioned square top above a paneled frieze with corner block floral accents, raised on stop-fluted tapering circular legs ending in toupie feet, h. 18", w. 16", d. 16".

Both chair and stool are sound structurally, with gilt finishes generally in very good condition. The stool has minor scattered losses to gilt. The silk cover is dirty, degraded and torn. The chair has the expected wear to gilt armrests and minor scattered gilt losses. Upholstery in good condition. The cover is far better than the stool, but splitting in front of the cushion.
