Pair of Italian Carved Giltwood Floor Lamps, ca. 1900, in the neoclassical taste, each vasiform standard decorated with raised scrollwork and a Corinthian capital finial, and supporting an urn-form carved lamp set with a socket, raised on like-decorated domed bases, h. 61", dia. 16".

In overall good condition. Both appear to be solid and stable. Scattered losses to the gilt and gesso throughout, together with some inpainting serve to create an attractive, somewhat distressed patina. Both exhibit vertical shrinkage cracks down the length of their columns. They appear to be structurally stable in the vicinity of the cracks. Previously electrified. Centers drilled.
