Item Details
Description
Britannia silver chocolate pot by Anthony Nelme or Francis Nelme, London, 1716, tapered octagonal form with hinged dome lid and figural peacock head spout. 10 1/2". 29.5 OT
Condition
Great condition, considering age. Some rippling/dimpling, but nothing that impedes with overall design or aesthetic of the piece. The handle is in suspiciously good condition--probably is a replacement, evidence of repair near the handle junction. There is a puddle of silver at the rim, some scratches on interior but we do not see what was repaired, how, or why--perhaps it is original. No evidence of erasure.
