1864 Abraham Lincoln Presidential Campaign Election Ticket, California’s Third District, Choice Extremely Fine.
Original, important variety, measuring 3.5” x 7” printed Union Electoral Ticket listing the Candidate for President, “ABRAHAM LINCOLN” and Vice President, “ANDREW JOHNSON”, and for the Third Congressional District of California “JOHN BIDWELL”. This Ticket also lists the Electors. Printed in Black upon clean White period wove paper. Decorated with a US Flag flying at top with text, “WE WILL DEFEND IT FOREVER!” above. The colorful printed Reverse side features a version of “Miss Liberty” holding a large American Flag with the White House, US Capitol Building, a Train, and a Pastoral scene in the background. Above is the legend inscription, “THE UNION FOREVER!” all being nicely printed in red-orange.
