An exceptional Costa Rican Jade Axe God pendant, Guanacaste, Nicoya, AD 1 - 500, of deep green stone, with detailed features, the eyes drilled through, tall triangular nose and open mouth showing teeth, the figures hands are on its belly. The back of the head possesses a depression, the holes drilled through the face exiting here, the headdress with cylindrical recess area. H: 5 ½ in (14 cm). Intact. Mounted on a custom stand.
