Rare and elegant wooden tub with fine veneer
This kind of wooden tub was traditionally used as a carrying vessel for the grape harvest. This stylish container from the late 19th century was most likely intended for the storage of firewood and other dry goods, or it might have been used as a wastpaper container in the salon. The body is made ??of wood with a walnut veneer. Designed ??in the style of the Biedermeier, it is held together by two wooden strips and features a projecting carrying handle at the rear. The flat cover is fitted with brass hinges. The wooden tub stands out in particular through its ??beautiful veneer.
The piece is in very good restored condition, showing minor signs of use, especially in the interior. The dimensions are approximately 62.5 x 37 x 41.5 cm.
