Exceptionally decorative Mantel Clock, which convinces with its wonderful contrast between gold and malachite green. Presumably produced for the Russian market
This Pendule was presumedly manufactured in France in the second half of the 19th century and was produced for the Russian export market. The circular movement with spring balancer, anchor escapement, has a power reserve of eight days. The silvered dial with Roman numerals, glazed bezel has filigree clock hands. The richly decorated case of the clock is provided with filigree malachite plates and gilded bronze ornaments. The color difference between the two materials shows an interesting contrast.
The clock worked during a short-time test; long term precision and regularity cannot be guaranteed. The Pendule is in good condition. Only the malachite plates on the top were renewed. On the left side a small filled defect. Dial with traces of wear. Housing cover behind side is missing. The Pendule measures 35 x 30.8 x 13.2 cm. (bed)
