This charming chryselephantine figurine of a boy was probably carved around 1920 in Germany. Particularly striking is the combination of various fruit woods in the figure that contrasts nicely with the ivory. The ivory-face is worked in detail and with great expressive power. It shows the boy shouting, his right hand being raised to the mouth. The figurine is presented on a fluted ivory pedestal with a profiled ring stand.
The figure is in good condition, showing some losses in the wood at the back of the left leg, to the right elbow and the brim of the hat. The overall height, including the base, is 18 cm. The figure, including the plinth, is 13 cm in height.
