Description
CARTER HOWARD: (1874-1939) English Archaeologist, discovered the tomb of Tutankhamun (1922-23). Draft A.L.S., with his initials HC (somewhat hurried), two pages, 8vo, Prince's Gate Court, London, 12th July 1934, to Isperian. Written in bold pencil, Carter informs his correspondent that his London bankers have confirmed that the money has been received, and therefore encloses a cheque (no longer present) for £2025, being his correspondent's share. Carter continues 'Later, if I can get away from this very stuffy London, I will come & see you but naturally I will write before hand. For the moment I am occupied in endeavouring to get into another flat with more air than this one.' Rare. A small rust stain from a pin appears in the upper left corner, not affecting the text or signature. Otherwise VG
