EISENHOWER DWIGHT D.: (1890-1969) American General of World War II, later American President 1953-61. T.L.S., Dwight D Eisenhower, one page, 4to, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, 6th December 1966, to Chaplain Walter H. White, on Eisenhower's personal printed stationery. Eisenhower states that he is pleased to know that Dr. Daniel A. Poling will be honoured at a Testimonial Banquet 'in recognition of his years of dedicated service to people throughout the world' and continues to confirm that he will be happy to have his name listed as Honorary Co-Chairman of the banquet, although will not be able to attend. Eisenhower concludes 'Please convey to Dr. Poling my warm congratulations and to all those in attendance my best wishes for an enjoyable and profitable evening'.
