Two works bound together in folio (359x224mm), contemporary vellum binding, five raised bands spine with handwritten titles in brown ink, red sprinkled edges, pp. [4, the second blank], 446, [50, the last two blank], [4], 98, [14]. Woodcut head-pieces, text on two columns.
1. Amostazo's treatise on the jurisprudence of bequests and donations to the Church, the monasteries, the poor people, the maidens with no dowry, the prisoners, the chaplains.Very interesting is the part regarding the donations for the building of churches and cathedrals. Second volume of Amostazo's collected works.
2. The renowned Bassi's treatise on the jurisprudence of the confraternities and companies, both religious and secular.
FRANCISCO AMOSTAZO, (or FRANCISCO DE MOSTAZO) was a canonist living between the 17th and the 18th century, bishop of Colmenar Viejo near Madrid.
GIOVANNI BATTISTA BASSI (1645-1736) was bishop of Anagni – the so called city of the popes - from 1708 and 1736. He is remembered there for the restoration, enlargement and rebuilding of the seminary.

Condition
Slightly worn binding at joints and the upper part of the spine, foxing and traces of oxidation due to the ink components, overall, a good copy.
