Description

DESCRIPTION: A.P. Critchlow & Company gutta percha image case. Image in relief on either side of gypsy fortune teller with a gentleman. Bordered by scrolling. Embossed maroon velvet on interior of lid. Copper border on interior. A.P. Critchlow manufactured daguerreotype cases and were the original inventors of the composition for the Union Case. With tintype of a little boy, seated. MEASUREMENTS: Case 4" x 5". Tintype 3-3/8" x 2-1/2". CONDITION: Edge wear to case, paper label on interior missing. Corners on the left side of the tintype are missing. Scratches throughout tintype, rubbing and white spots.
