(Walt Disney Studios, 1939) Extremely rare (2) 35mm Leica Reels featuring conceptual artwork from early work on Alice in Wonderland, and Fantasia. Leica reels were a type of storyboarding device that in this case used conceptual artwork that was matched to a soundtrack and run so that an idea of the flow timing of a sequence could be worked out. The (1) reel from Alice in Wonderland features early work by artist David Hall, while the (1) Fantasia reel features numerous artists including Kay Nielsen and features the “Night on Bald Mountain” and “Ave Maria” sequences.
