Description

ALS A mounted 20. 5 x 14.5 letter dated 11 December 1990, written and signed by Margaret Thatcher in blue ink on headed "The RT. Hon. Margaret Thatcher, F.R.S., M.P., House of Commons, London SW1A 0AA" paper. Framed and glazed, overall size 27.5 x 21.5cm. In excellent condition. The letter is a response to the vendor, who had sent to the former British Prime Minister a gift of the perfume Femme by Rochas, having read in the Khaleej Times that it was her favourite. The letter reads in full: "Dear Mr Lawlor, Thank you very much for the lovely gift of Rochas parfume which I received today. You are most kind, it is one of my favourites and I shall greatly enjoy wearing it expecially over the festive season. Yours sincerely Margaret Thatcher". The vendor remarks that he had the letter framed "at the time much to the disgust of socialist friends!!"
