Description
23.5 by 5.5 inch piece of barn wood with a bayonet mounted to it. Label reads "Relic American Revolutionary War Bayonet / Here is a typical example of the many 18th century copies of the standard British Brown Bess bayonet made in the American Colonies Circa 1755-1780. The crude workmanship and rough finish are immediately apparent. This bayonet was recovered from Ft. Mifflin, Philadelphia, PA. The fort was a battle site in the American War of Independence in 1777." From the Clifford Weaver Collection.
