Description
Dug relic mounted on barn wood measuring 5.25 by 23.5 inches. The label reads "Civil War Relic Confederate Enfield bayonet. / This pattern of 1853 Enfield socket bayonet was found with the remains of a unidentified North Carolina Confederate Soldier in a Earth-work on the battlefield at Cold Harbor, Virginia. / The discovery was made by Gary Williams while relic hunting on his property in November of 1988. / Additional documentation regarding this find is attached to the reverse of this board." The back has an pair of articles about the remains and the original tag from the piece. From the Clifford Weaver Collection.
