Description
Asia, Indonesia, ca. 19th century. A pair of carved wood 3/4 face masks with exaggerated facial features. Note the large pointed nose and heavy arched eyebrow of the mask painted pink with read and black detailing. The other shows a more naturalistic nose and is painted black with a green cross on its forehead and some red details. Measurements for larger example. 5.50"H (13.97 H cm)

Condition
Pink mask shows signs of age and use with loss to painted surface. Black mask was repaired from two pieces and shows a few minor paint flakes. Overall fair condition.
