Item Details

Description

c. 1800, Slave Collar and Lock. Approximately 4 1/2 x 8 inches in diameter, the collar is made of two U-shaped pieces of iron and a 5 inch long locking mechanism with original 3 1/2 inch key. The key was used to unscrew the round, adjustable lock plate. The collar is gray and rust-colored, with metal surfaces worn from usage.
